For five years I was the lead health editor of a major international publication and am a #1 New York Times bestselling writer.

My work has been featured in PEOPLE, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Glamour, Reader's Digest, NPR, HBO, the Oprah Winfrey Network, and international media outlets.

In my academic training, I completed a clinical research internship at the Cleveland Clinic's psychology & psychiatry department, and a semester-long clinical practicum at University Health's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland.

 

My B.S. from John Carroll University is in clinical psychology (while completing a second major in communications), and my master's is in public communication & media studies from Fordham University in New York City.​
